APRIL 2023

                                                 HAPPY EARTH DAY!

WHAT IS EARTH DAY?

Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations. The first Earth Day was held April 22, 1970.

It can be as simple as teaching them how and what to recycle, replacing plastic bags with reusable tote bags, or only using reusable water bottles. Every time you do something that helps the Earth, involve them and explain exactly what you're doing.

LET'S MAKE EVERY DAY EARTH DAY!

HELLO APRIL!

The Grade 3's are making sure that they are learning and doing the best that they can in every task given to them. As we welcome the new season, the Grade 3's are all working  like bees. This last term is very busy. We need to be focused and believed in our strengths. I BELIEVE IN MYSELF!

In Religion, we have learned about Lent, The Paschal Triduum, Easter and now we are learning about Sacraments.

In Spelling, we are doing better and better every Spelling test and we are looking forward to learning more new words.

In Language Arts, we learned about Adjectives and Comparison of Adjectives.

In Math, we are still working on our Addition and Subtraction with and without regrouping. We started doing Skip Counting 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s. This is a technique used in learning Multiplication.

In Science, we are having so much fun learning about the different parts of a plant in detail as well as the different plants parts that we can eat. We will be talking soon about Forces and Motion, Electricity and Magnetism. We get so excited to learn about Magnets.

In Social Studies, we are learning about the different provinces and the different fun facts about them.

In French, we will be learning about the different Body Parts in French. We will also learn Canadian currency in French.

In Art, we love doing our Arts projects. We did a few exciting art projects – bubble wrap Easter egg. Here in Grade 3, we take pride of all the fancy artworks that we do.

Please make sure that you are checking and signing your child’s agenda everyday. This is a great tool for communication between school and home.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please feel free to write me a note in their agenda or send me an email to grade3sgs@gmail.com.

Thank you, stay safe and keep warm.

Mrs. Francisco
