April
April
I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break and some warmer
weather and sunshine are in store for us this month.
In ELA, we continue to practice our skills through our
weekly spelling program, phonics and journal activities. We will be writing stories and doing some
creative writing activities throughout the month of April.
In Math, we are continuing to practice our multiplication
facts and strategies. We are still
practicing our 3-digit addition with regrouping and 3-digit subtraction with
borrowing as well. We will start
learning division after spring break.
In Science, we are well into our new unit on Structures and
Materials. The students are really
enjoying this unit so far and they will get the chance to build some bridges
and test their strength later this month.
In Social Studies, we have been discussing Human Rights and
learning about different organizations around the world that help children who
do not have their basic human rights. We
will be looking at world geography and how to use a map in April.
In Religion, we are preparing for Easter and the
Resurrection of Jesus. We will be
learning about the Stations of the Cross, continuing our daily Lent calendar
and doing many Easter activities in April.
Thank you to all the parents who continue to check their
child’s agenda each day for important notes or information regarding your
child’s learning.
Mrs. Shade
