Time is indeed really flying by so fast…..

In the Grade 3 classroom, four months had past and we have learned so many things. We are having the best times and we are making sure that we are doing our very best in everything that we do. We are trying our best to keep focus on the task at hand and make sure that we are submitting every single task on time. We are getting into the routine of worksheets, homework and tests.

    In Religion, we have learned more about Christ and His Kingdom. We have learned that in order for us to be in the Kingdom of God, we need to do our part by being good and kind. We also learned about the different facts about the Advent Season.

   In Spelling, we are doing better every Spelling test and we are looking forward to learning more new words.

     In Language Arts, we have learned about Syllables and Compound Words. When we come back from our break, we will be learning about the different rules of Capitalization, Synonyms, Antonyms and Homonyms and Basic types of Sentences.

     In Math, we have learned about Fact Families and Ordinal numbers both word and numeric forms. We started learning Skip counting by 2’s and 3’s. We will be learning more about Skip Counting by 4’s to 12’s, Roman Numerals and Rounding Off numbers.  

    In Science, we have learned about different facts about Plants: its Life cycle, different parts, and its functions, and we are learning each parts thoroughly. We also did a little experiment of growing our own plants. We observed and wrote our own observations. We learned about Roots, Taproots and Fibrous Roots. We will be learning more of its different parts like seeds, stems, flowers and leaves. We are going to learn about the different kinds of plants.

         In Social Studies, we have learned about Canada, its provinces and territories, Canada’s national anthem and flag. We will be learning more about Canada’s landscapes, its beautiful sceneries and we will explore more information about the different provinces and territories.

     In French, we have learned about the basic French words like colors, greetings, saying or introducing in French, number, and other common French words.  We learned the French days of the week and months of the year. We will be learning more like the Fruits and Vegetables in French, parts of the body and other.

          In Art, we love doing our Arts projects. We have learned about the Warm and Cool Colors. We did Stained- Glass Cross Art and Nativity Scene using warm and cool colors.

           We are finished with the Provincial Assessment in Mathematics and Reading. We got the results and as their teacher, I will continue to help them strengthen and be focus their goals.
