Hello June! 

Nine months ago I am just welcoming the month of September and welcoming back the students. Soon I will be saying goodbye to my Grade 3 class as they move forward and go to Grade 4. 

The school year of 2025 - 2026 is a roller coaster ride for the Grade 3 class. We had all sorts of things. We learnt a lot of lessons even life lessons that will help them as they grow older. 

In our classroom, the learning continues. We are still learning a lot. 
 
In Language Arts, we continue with our spelling words and even try difficult and big words and accepted this as a challenge. :) 

In Math, we continue learning about Fractions and learnt about Telling Time. 

In Science, we made our tallest structure made out of spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. It was indeed fun. They learned to work together and learnt that planning is essential in building a structure. 

In Social Studies, we learnt about our Communities. 

In Religion, we learnt about the Holy Trinity and the Solemnity of the Corpus Christi. I love these lessons as they help strengthen their faith and understood the mysteries of our Christian faith. 

We are going to be saying goodbye soon, but I am hoping that they had learned a lot from this year. I wish these students the best of luck in the next year to come.

April I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break and some warmer weather and sunshine are in store for us this month.    In ELA, we continue to practice our skills through our weekly spelling program, phonics and journal activities.   We will be writing stories and doing some creative writing activities throughout the month of April.    In Math, we are continuing to practice our multiplication facts and strategies.   We are still practicing our 3-digit addition with regrouping and 3-digit subtraction with borrowing as well.   We will start learning division after spring break.   In Science, we are well into our new unit on Structures and Materials.   The students are really enjoying this unit so far and they will get the chance to build some bridges and test their strength later this month.   In Social Studies, we have been discussing Human Rights and learning about different organizations around the world that help children ...

 Wow! It’s hard to believe it is already June and the end of the school year is upon us. With that being said, we still have a lot of learning and fun activities in the weeks ahead. In Language Arts we are finishing up our last spelling unit for the year. We have started to learn cursive writing and will continue to practice our phonics, grammar, reading and writing throughout the month of June. In math, we finished up our fractions unit. We will start a short unit on time to end the school year. In Science, we are learning about different structures and the materials that are used to build them. We are learning about the different strengths of materials and how you can make a structure stronger by using different shapes, materials or designs. In Social Studies, we are looking at different parts of a map and how to read a map. We are learning about world geography and looking at the different continents and oceans of the world. Welcome to our Grade 3 class!  We have a tremendously exciting–and busy-year ahead.           I am very very happy to let you know that the opportunity to teach your child is a privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously. I will do my very best to motivate, comfort and appreciate your child and all the gifts he or she will bring to our classroom.           Let me tell you a little secret.
