Happy Easter!

Christ has Risen! Indeed, He is Risen!

Easter is the most significant Christian festival commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

"The Easter Story: Following his arrest and trial, Jesus was crucified on Good Friday at Calvary. He was buried in a tomb, but on the third day (Sunday), his followers, including Mary Magdalene, found the tomb empty. Christians celebrate this resurrection as validation of Jesus’ divinity and promise of eternal life."

Spring break gives us and helps us to have a wonderful break away from our busy work and schedule. It helps us to be renewed and revisit our goals for this year. I am hoping that everyone had a wonderful break. We are going to be expecting more warmer weather and a lot of sunshine.

In English Language Arts, we continue to practice our skills through our weekly spelling program, phonics and writing activities.  We will be doing opinion writing. We will keep on reading short stories that would enhance their reading and comprehension skills.

In Math, we are continuing to practice our multiplication facts and strategies.  We are learning to do word problems in addition and subtraction. We continue enhancing our mental math through mad minutes.

In Science, we are well into our new unit on Structures and Materials.  The students are enjoying this unit so far and they will get the chance to build some bridges and test their strength later this month. We will be working with the Grade 7s to do these activities.

In Social Studies, we have been discussing Human Rights and learning about different organizations around the world that help children who do not have their basic human rights.

In Religion, we are doing and discussing about Easter, Resurrection, Ascension, and Pentecost.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the parents who are continuously checking their children's agenda and signing them on a daily basis. The information written are all valuable and needs to be seen and known and are all relevant to your child’s learning.

Please remember to bring extra socks and mittens.

Important Dates to remember:

April 7 - Classes resume

April 14 - School Mass and Early dismissal

Take care!
