Welcome back everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful summer!  The first few days have been busy getting back into a routine, getting to know our classmates, learning our new responsibilities, coming up with our class rules, and having fun with our back to school Popsicle Theme. 

Feel free to contact me at the school if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child.  You may also communicate through your child’s agenda as I will be checking them daily and asking parents to sign them every day as well.

Some important dates to remember:

·         *  Picture Day – Tuesday, September 17th

·         * Meet the Teacher on – Tuesday, September 17th from 6:30-7:45pm

·         * NUT Day wear Orange – Monday, September 23rd – Thursday, September 26th

·        * Nut Day/Activity Day wear your team colour – Friday, September 27th

I am looking forward to meeting all the families at the Meet the Teacher event on Tuesday.  It will begin in the basement cafeteria.  Please visit the blog throughout the school year for updates on what we are learning and doing in the classroom.

  Welcome Back to School! Welcome to Grade 3!      I hope that everyone had a good and enjoyable summer.      Grade 3 is considered to be a big year. But I would like to think that this is the year that we "prepare" them for works that big kids do for the upper year.      To give you an overview of what is going to happen in this grade, I have listed some of them for you.  Grade 3 is the year that the children are becoming more independent especially in their work.  They will be having tests in all subjects with review sheets. They will be the one responsible for putting all their paper in the right place or right duotang. Grade 3 is where they get their knowledge to do things in the upper grade. For example, they have a test and they didn't know what and how to study. In this grade, I would set up review sheets, so they know how and what to study for test.  Math lessons gets harder as the year progress and they will be learning multiplication as the year goes on.  Remind

March and April

  Happy Easter! Happy Spring!  Christ is Risen! Indeed, He is Risen!  March was a pretty busy month for the Grade 3s. The Grade 3s are all working so hard especially this term. It is the last term to master everything what we need to learn this year. This month the Grade 3s learned a lot.  April is another busy month for us all. There is so much to do and learn. We also have a learning fair to prepare.  In Religion, we learned about the season of Lent. Lent is the time to look closely at ourselves, our relationships with ourselves, with others and of course with God. We are always asked to be good. We are called to be good, in mind, heart and body. In everything we think, we say and most especially on what we do. We are going to continue learning about Easter and the Church and about Christ love for us all.  In Spelling, they are learning pretty big and challenging words and they are getting better each day.  In Language Arts, they are learning more parts of speech like verbs, and adje

  When you're doing a lot of learning, time flies so fast. And this is what we in the Grade 3 class is feeling. It is already the month of November and a lot has happened already and there's so much more to learn and do in the Grade 3 class.  We finished our Provincial Assessment last month and I can say that it went well. I am happy to say that even if the results of their assessment says that they're not there yet, I believe that they're getting there soon. I am proud of what they have achieved and there's always room for improvement.  We are learning so much. In ELA, we are strengthening their alphabetical skills so that they will be ready to learn more complex skills like the finding words in the dictionary and looking for its meaning. We also started Printing practices. They need to remember to stay on the line, write consistently their letters and to know when to use uppercase and lowercase letters.
