Happy New Year! 

Goodbye 2022! Welcome 2023!


The month of December had gone by pretty fast. It is a month that is short but sweet. The Grade 3's had been very busy with a lot of fun and learning. 

For the first time again after 3 years, we had our in-person Christmas Concert. And I can say that it was indeed a blast! The students as well as the parents enjoyed every presentation. You can probably say that we have an UPGRADE in terms of our presentations. :) Thank you very much to all the wonderful people behind the success of the Christmas Concert - Mrs. Pollock, Mr. Kharchenko and all the staff and parent volunteers. IT WAS INDEED A HUGE SUCCESS!

The Grade 3s had been doing a lot of reviewing, practicing and mastering a lot of skills. 

In ELA, we are practicing a lot of dictionary skills, finding words in the dictionary. Its definition and how they are going to use the words in a sentence. They are also encountering a lot of different words thru their weekly Spelling words. When they get back after the break, we will do a lot of grammar lessons like nouns, pronouns, verbs and adjectives. Also, phonics lessons will also be learnt and a lot of reading comprehensions and writing. 

In Math, we are doing word problems and also continuously mastering their addition and subtraction facts with or without regrouping. After the break, we'll learn about fact Families, Skip counting 2 to 12, Telling Time and of course Multiplication. 

In Religion, we are going to learn about about Jesus and His Ministry. 

In Science, we are going to talk about Seeds and other plant parts.

In Social Studies, we will learn more about Canada, its provinces and other details about our beloved country. 

In Art, we are going to do other interesting art activities. 

In French, we are going to continue learning about basic greetings, words and phrases. 

With all of these new things to learn, I can say that the grade 3s will be very, very busy. BUSY AS A BEE! :) 

When we come back, it will be very cold, so please bundle up and wear the proper outerwear. Please make sure you have jacket, snow pants,winter boots, socks, mittens or gloves, scarf or a neck warmer and a hat to protect yourself from the cold days ahead.

  Happy New Year everyone!  Goodbye 2023! Welcome 2023! The year 2023 just went by so fast. I can still remember when I wrote my September blog - the Grade 3's were just starting the routine in the Grade 3. The continuous work, the tests, printing practices, mad minutes, and all other stuff. Now, four months had passed and the students are still trying to master their routine and they know what are the expectations required from them. I can say that they are indeed trying their best and that is what matters most.  As the new year begins, there will be new lessons, new challenges and of course new expectations. May and June

  Goodbye May! Hello June!  Oh my! The month of May went by pretty fast and we didn't even realize that it is now the month of June...and we are now on our last month of the school year 2022-2023.  Where did those precious 9 months of learning go?  Well, the month of May is indeed a pretty busy month. The Grade 3's had been working so hard and busy as a bee. I think that the Grade 3's had grown so much not only physically but in learning too.  Just a short recap -   * In-person Book Fair - It was indeed a success. The grade 3's in particular are excited that the book fair is now in person. We reached our goal and we now have a bunch of new books that the students will for sure enjoy.  * Math Learning Fair - The grade 3's had been preparing for this learning fair. They did a couple of activities. They did Puzzle Pieces for the different ways a number could be represented, and believe me there's a lot. :) They did City Skyline Arrays and Two Truths and a Lie for A

                                                      HAPPY EARTH DAY!  WHAT IS EARTH DAY?  Earth Day is  an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earths natural resources for future generations . The first Earth Day was held April 22, 1970.  It can be as simple as  teaching them how and what to recycle, replacing plastic bags with reusable tote bags, or only using reusable water bottles . Every time you do something that helps the Earth, involve them and explain exactly what you're doing. LET'S MAKE EVERY DAY EARTH DAY!  HELLO APRIL!  The Grade 3's are making sure that they are learning and doing the best that they can in every task given to them. As we welcome the new season, the Grade 3's are all working  like bees. This last term is very busy. We need to be focused and believed in our strengths.
